THE SISYPHUS PROJECT is a collaboration between Bay Area actor Jack Halton and Reno filmmaker Asa Gilmore. It started as street theater, with Halton pushing the boulder unannounced up a San Francisco hill. It has since grown into a short film incorporating a soundtrack from San Francisco band Ubzorb.

The film is based upon the ancient Greek myth, in which Sisyphus has to serve out eternity pushing a boulder up a steep slope. Just when he reached the top, his burden slipped from his grasp and he had to begin again.

THE SISYPHUS PROJECT takes this concept a step further by relating the legend to modern life and the human condition.
